Post-Thanksgiving Update!

During our Thanksgiving break, our hearts were filled with thanks for all that God is allowing us to accomplish in our ministry! So we'd like to give you a glimpse of why we love what we do in providing leadership to Collegiate Awakening Network (statewide organization), The Prayer Room at CNU (Christopher Newport University & Hampton Roads), and Campus Ignite (College of William and Mary).

It has been such a joy spending hours with students who simply need some affirmation or counsel. Our living room has been a refuge for hurting hearts, and we have seen the thankfulness that comes from simply being available to those in need. Most importantly, we have also seen many connect with the love and goodness of Father God. Every week, we have around 18 hours of scheduled prayer and worship times that people have committed to lead. But we also have a constant stream of people who come to the prayer room at all hours of the day and night. For some, it's the only quiet place to focus, for others it is a special place to connect with God, and for us as a community, it is a place where we can grow in God together.

We have seen the depressed and hurting find peace and acceptance in the prayer room, and we constantly hear things like, "Thank you so much for making this space available," "I have prayed for this for so long," and "This place is amazing."

Every Sunday and Friday night, we gather with students and friends in the community to share a meal, worship, and fellowship. We have also seen amazing healing miracles and spiritual breakthroughs. We have travelled the state and seen God touch hearts at places like JMU, VCU, and VT. We have seen ministries united, and harsh denominational lines blurred.

In a time where our nation has felt so much turmoil, we see God raising up a generation that is going to make Jesus famous in America!

2017 is going to be amazing. The Prayer Room will grow in both staff and volunteers, we will start a new initiative at William and Mary to create unity and common vision among the different ministries there, and we will continue to work throughout the state to strategically transform campuses all over Virginia. Please pray for us, as we prepare to walk through these doors God is opening up!
